The Municipality of Salto, through the Department of Environment and in partnership with the Environmental CSO, inaugurated on Wednesday (20), at 10 o’clock, the Ecoponto Parque Residencial Rondon. This is the seventh point of the city made available to the population for voluntary disposal of recyclable and waste materials.
The event was attended by the mayor of the municipality, Geraldo Garcia, the secretary of the Environment, César Piva, and the students of Cemus III, who were in first place in the Olympiad of Recycling.
At the time, the chief of the executive pondered with those present the importance of spaces such as these for the preservation of the environment. He recalled the work of environmental education that is developed in schools and pointed out that the children of Saltens have a great awareness of the subject and are now helping them to disseminate this knowledge in relation to the correct separation of materials for parents and other relatives.
Also present at the ceremony were the city councilmen, Luis Carlos Batista, Álvaro Pacheco, Antonio Cordeiro dos Santos, Celso Charnoski, Cícero Landim, Divaldo Aparecido dos Santos, Edemilson Santos, José Benedito de Carvalho, Lafaiete Pinheiro, Nilson Benedito da Silva and Vinicius Saudino.
Ecoponto Rondon
The Ecoponto Residential Park Rondon has about one thousand square meters destined to receive furniture, mattresses and sofas, prunings of trees, rubble of works, kitchen oil, lamps, batteries and batteries. And also recyclable materials such as paper, glass, aluminum cans, plastic, pet bottles, bottles of cleaning and hygiene products, styrofoam and trays – provided they are not dirty with grease.
The use of space is free. The saltenses are invited to know and use the place. It is located at Rua Domingos José da Cruz, 130, and runs from Monday to Saturday, from 07:40 to 16:00.
